ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLIES

SAFCO has developed a number of electronic circuits that can be included in a custom low voltage power solution. The functionality of these circuits is outlined in this section. In addition to these features, there are a number of different ways to incorporate these into a power cord. SAFCO currently has several standard housings that can be used in your design or we can work with you to design the features and housings to your exact specifications.

ERGO CIGARETTE LIGHTER ADAPTER PLUG
•  Ergo plug universally fits all automotive receptacles and acts as a housing for sophisticated electronic circuitry
•  Made of high temperature ABS
•  LED included in the housing
•  Design options include fused or fuseless
•  Depending on the size, material and functionality of circuitry, these Ergo plugs are rated up to 40 watts
•  All Ergo plugs come with molded strain relief to protect wire from repetitive bending
•  Sonic welded assembly for solid construction and long life
•  All contacts are made from custom alloys to ensure proper electrical conductivity and spring characteristics

Traditional Cigarette Lighter Adapter
•  Universal design fits all automotive receptacles and acts as a housing for sophisticated electronic circuitry
•  Made of high temperature ABS (UL Flame 94-HB)
•  Can be configured with and without fuse and LED
•  All plugs come with molded strain relief to protect wire from repetitive bending
•  Screw assembly for solid construction and long life
• All contacts are made from custom alloys to ensure proper electrical conductivity and spring characteristics

IN-LINE HOUSINGS
•  This housing is used in heavy duty applications that call for larger PCBs and require greater dissipation of heat
•  Typical application is DC/DC power supply
•  Made of high temperature modified polypropylene
•  LED included in the housing
•  Depending on the size, material and functionality of circuitry, these housings are rated up to 60 watts
•  These housings come in a variety of styles and sizes.

CHARGERS
•  SAFCO offers an extensive line of DC/DC and AC/DC battery chargers from ½ watt all the way up to 60 watts.
•  DC/DC chargers are available in our integrated, ergonomic cigarette lighter plug-in module, or in an inline housing or hard-wired into the automobile.
•  AC/DC packages are available in wall mount or inline configurations. Many models are available with UL60950 or UL1310 listings.

AUTOSWITCH®
•  Our 12-volt Autoswitch® operates only when the automobile engine is running. Accessories or appliances connected to the Autoswitch® are automatically turned on when the engine is started and shut off when the engine is turned off.
•  Prevents battery rundown or damage to the plugged in device
•  Available as a plug-in device or permanently wired, with a variety of output connectors and current ratings.

CONVERTERS
•  SAFCO offers numerous DC/DC and AC/DC power converter units ranging in sizes from 60 watts all the way down to just a few watts.
•  DC/DC converters are available in our integrated, ergonomic cigarette lighter plug-in module, or in an inline housing or hard-wired into the automobile.
•  AC/DC packages are available in wall mount and inline configurations. Many models are available with UL60950 or UL1310 listings.
•  A variety of output connectors are offered.
•  Applications include consumer electronics, portable devices, etc.

SURGE& SPIKE PROTECTION (patent pending)
•  Except for automotive engineers, few people realize the 12-volt DC power outlet has microsecond spikes as high as 600 volts and energy surges that can damage electronic devices.
•  SAFCO is a pioneer in low voltage Surge & Spike protection.
•  Surge & Spike protection can be an integrated part of our solutions, or a freestanding plug-in product.
